Tyrone S. Woods Park

Irrigation and Softscape

Tyrone S Woods Memorial Park in Oregon City, OR is the newest city park and is named for US Navy SEAL (retired) Tyrone S. Woods who perished in Benghazi on September 12, 2012, while serving with the CIA defending American lives. The park is comprised of 9.1 acres that contain a large open lawn area, a fence-enclosed dog park, and a natural play structure.

Among the many concrete walking paths are structured landscape areas with natural boulder retaining walls and elevated planting areas. Numerous covered seating areas are also available for family gatherings.

The Grasstains team was responsible for the softscape development as well as the design and implementation of the automatic irrigation system tasked with keeping the very large lawn areas green and inviting for human and canine visitors alike. Most notable about this project is the sheer scale of the landscaped areas.
